Senior Human Resources Manager

United States, South Carolina, Fort MillThe HUB

Job description

ABOUT SCHUMACHER:

Our company is synonymous with style, taste and innovation. Our collections are comprehensive, with an extraordinary range united by respect for casual classics, an eye for the cutting edge, and an unparalleled level of quality.

But don’t be fooled! While we celebrate our storied heritage, we operate like a 132-year‐old startup. Our talented team is innovative and dynamic, and our culture is progressive and fun. In order to continue our success, we are always looking for talented people that fit and want to grow with us.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The F. Schumacher & Co. Distribution Center, also known as “The Hub,” is one of the Fort Mill area’s most exciting employers. We are the Center of Operations for a rapidly growing business that is expanding not only in space but also in people. As the warehouse and distribution center for FSCO, we ship fabrics, wallcoverings, and trim to interior designers and architects in over 28 countries.

The People & Organization (“P&O”) team at FSCO is a dynamic, influential team dedicated to the success of our customers by supporting our business goals and helping our employees succeed. We partner with our business leaders to set goals and create a People & Organization strategy to achieve those goals, all while maintaining a strong operational foundation and commitment to best-in-class systems.

The P&O team is looking for a Senior People & Organization Manager with 6 – 8 years of experience to support “The Hub” in Fort Mill, South Carolina. This role will work with a dynamic group of employees throughout the employee lifecycle. The role will encompass a variety of responsibilities that include Talent Strategy and Recruitment, Employee Growth and Development, Performance Management, Staffing Strategy, Business Strategy & Solutions, Goal Setting, and Employee Engagement Initiatives. The VP, P&O will rely on this person to be the “boots on ground,” to help solve the territory’s day-to-day problems, and understand the dynamics, needs, and strengths of the various Hub teams.

The Hub Junior Talent Manager will work closely with, and report into, the Senior People & Organization Manager.

In addition, the ideal candidate is:

  • Relationship oriented. No People team can be effective without the ability to make, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with fellow team members.
  • Intrinsically motivated and self-driven. FSCO is a place where motivated individuals are rewarded with near-endless opportunities. All voices are not only welcome but expected to share their insights. For that reason, we focus less on reporting structures and more on roles and expertise.
  • Able to optimize the operational functions of human resources—our P&O team is committed to seamless operational effectiveness, so an obsession with detail and precision is a must.
  • Strategic thinker. Although we can all get caught up in the day-to-day, we find it essential to make time to analyze where we are going, why, and whether there is a better way to do things. Even non-designers can be creatives!

Job requirements

Among the things that are most important to us are:

• Culture: In our company, you’re judged by your ideas and results, not by your experience or title. So, we encourage you to be thoughtful and to speak your mind.

• Development: We strive every day to develop you and your colleagues for what we believe is a challenging and supportive business environment.

• Teamwork: We believe that success and efficiency can only be a product of collaboration. At FSCO, working together is the rule, not the exception.

• Innovation: We have achieved success and longevity through innovation. And we encourage experimentation and rule breaking. Mistakes? Those are things we embrace, talk about and learn from.

• Life balance: Focused, productive time is more important than long hours. We believe in having enough time to be happy both in the office and out of it.
