FSCO SPOTLIGHT SERIES

Q&A with FSCO is a series that spotlights team members across all of our brands and highlights our culture at F. Schumacher & Co.

Erika Adams

Director of Sales and Sales Marketing

“I focus on the growth and development of our sales team and our territories, while overseeing the functions of the Sales Marketing team.”

TENURE: 3 years, 10 months

Michaela Lynch: What does the feeling of home mean to you?

Erika Adams: To me, home means a lot of things! Ultimately, it is the feeling of comfort as it provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC. Home is the feeling of joy I get when I am entertaining my friends. Home is the nostalgic and warm feeling as result of making memories and traditions with loved ones.

ML: I'll follow up with: what is your favorite piece of design in your home?

EA: My favorite piece of design in my home is a beautiful cream Italian leather sofa that was handed down to me from my mother. I remember purchasing it together and at the time, she mentioned to me that one day it would mine and in my very own home. Fast forward many years later, and it is now in my apartment! No blue jeans allowed on it, ever.

ML: What Schumacher pattern, PF design, or Backdrop color speaks to you the most?

EA: Foxtrot in our beloved Abaca is my favorite design of all time! It is striking, classic and elegant, all at the same time.

ML: Is there something exciting that you’ve worked on that you haven’t had an excuse to talk about yet?

EA: This is something I have had a lot of excuses to talk about: our sophisticated new ERP/CRM system that is going to elevate the PF business to the next level.

ML: What is your favorite part about working at F. Schumacher & Co.?

EA: The people and the culture. We genuinely work with some of the nicest and brightest people. I love that our company has a culture of being collaborative, dynamic and of course, people and customer focused! There is a large sense of community, and our leaders do a great job of inspiring and motivating us.

ML: Agreed! Do you have a colleague you would like to shout out? If so, why?

EA: Samantha Micicche: She was my first direct report and she is now the manager of the Sales Marketing team. With her tremendous efforts and drive, our team has been able to grow to what it is today.

ML: You started in 2018 and Patterson Flynn has undergone numerous changes since then. In your opinion, how has the brand evolved and where do you see it going?

EA: Our brand has evolved in significant and powerful ways. From our re-brand, to the changing of our name, and a new ERP system and growing sales team, we are heading in an incredible direction that will result in further growth and industry recognition. It is an exciting time for Patterson Flynn! *Insert Rocket Ship emoji here*

ML: And finally, how have you grown professionally since starting at FSCO?

EA: I have grown and evolved significantly at FSCO since the start of my tenure. I was hired into a new role for the company and spearheaded the development of a new business unit and department (Sales Marketing). Having a background in sales allowed for me to transition and grow into a sales management role and execute it through a business development and marketing lens. This has been the most rewarding role of my professional career, and I am looking forward to learning and growing even more!
